I work for the Comptroller's Accounting Office at MIT . I am currently doing Client/Server work in C. The server runs on MIT's IBM mainframe with Windows and Mac clients both running Omnis 7. The server talks to ADABAS on the mainframe. I program the server and the C "external" for the Omnis client.

The external communicates over the network with the mainframe server and both use fun things like Kerberos and DES for authentication and encryption. I also help support MIT's Payroll system.

Currently I am modifying the server to also communicate with an SQL/DS database in addtion to ADABAS and am also working on a port of the Windows client to Windows NT.

In my "spare time" I'm a DJ, engineer, and do other work at MIT's radio station WMBR, run various mailing lists including Discus-L, Stripes (Angelfish), Discus-Trader, and keep freshwater tropical fish.
